Poster Session

Each participant will showcase an ongoing or completed project, research, or proposal in which they have recently been involved. The presentation time should be used to network with colleagues and generate lasting research relationships.

Poster details

  • The general theme for the posters should be research and development in science and/or engineering
  • Participants are required to make a one-minute presentation (using one PowerPoint slide) to the audience highlighting the salient features of their poster and making the case why it is worth their time to visit the poster
  • Poster Size: maximum display area is 4 feet x 4 feet; poster boards and thumb tacks will be available
  • Participants will spend approximately five minutes with judges during his or her session, and the judges will score each poster on a scale from 1-5 in the following categories: Organization /Format, Content/ Understandability, and Oral Presentation
  • A best poster award and an honorable mention will be awarded for each poster session
  • Include the following information on the poster:
    • Poster title
    • Presenter’s name, title, affiliation, and e-mail address
    • Faculty advisor’s name
    • Acknowledgements including project sponsor(s)

INSTITUTE FOCUS:
Cancer Nanotechnology and Cellular Mechanics

OBJECTIVES

The overall objective is to enhance the ability to address overarching challenges in the areas of Cancer Nanotechnology and Mechanobiology. Highly interdisciplinary in nature, the 2013 Summer Institute will offer faculty expertise from biology, engineering, materials science, and nanotechnology through a combination of lectures and hands-on lab experiences.
