Hotel and Parking
Hotel
A local hotel option is Hampton Inn, 1200 W. University Ave., Urbana, IL. Call 217-337-1100 for reservations.
The Hampton is conveniently located on the north side of University Avenue, less than a block from the National Center for Supercomputing Applications, 1205 W. Clark St., and about a block from the Micro and Nanotechnology Laboratory, 208 N. Wright St.
An alternative is the iHotel on the south edge of campus, at 1900 S. First St., Champaign. Call 217-819-5000 to check availability and rates. Also see discount coupons at the Champaign County Convention & Visitors Bureau website.
Parking
Parking is available at the Hampton Inn and in various campus locations at metered spaces, which charge one dollar per hour.
Campus options include the first level in the North Campus Parking Deck at 1201 W. University Ave., directly across the street from the Hampton Inn and between Mathews Ave. and Goodwin Ave. Limited complimentary parking for workshop attendees is available on Wright St. near the Micro and Nanotechnology Building on May 7 and 8. Free parking at bagged meters is on east side of Wright St. only.
Parking meters within walking distance of the workshop also are available on Mathews Ave., Clark St., and Springfield Ave. Be aware that some meters have one- or two-hour limits, while others allow parking for up to 10 hours, depending on which street or area you select.
